Like Rangefinder Cameras??? Looks like there's a NEW Company in-town...Konost

Just came across this article about a NEW camera company called Konost, who according to them are developing 'The Worlds First True Digital Rangefinder' cameras. Not quite sure how they can make that claim as some of the Fujifilm X-series models have split-image focus through their digital viewfinder, but nonetheless I was drawn to article by how ABSOLUTELY STUNNING the prototype camera looks & always room for more in the growing market place for this style of camera.

According to Konost, they plan to develop 3 sensor type models. A 20MP Full Frame sensor Model (due 2016), a 12MP APS-C CMOS sensor Model (due 2016) & a 10.8MP 1-inch CMOS sensor Model (due late 2015). The 1-inch sensor model is projected to have a Fixed 35mm f/2 Lens like that of the dominating Fujifilm X100 series & I question slightly how it will compete or compare against the Fuji. The Konost Junior has got to be cheap as surely the Image Quality from Fujifilm X100T APS-C X-Trans Sensor with no optical pass filter puts the Fuji as a step-up. To be honest, I am more excited about the FF & AP Models & I especially like the fact they will come with a Leica M-Mount- that must be a recipe for success.

Rumour: NEW Cameras Coming From Sony & Nikon

After some internet leaks there are rumours of a soon to be announced successor to the incredibly popular Sony NEX-7, it will most likely be called the Sony A7000- so we will call it that for now. It will sit above the Sony A6000 in Sony's Compact System Camera line-up. Interestingly, it's been rumoured to have an in-camera Sensor Shift image stabilization, which was first introduced with Sony's A7 Mark II & this camera has proven to be very popular. It is entirely clear whether the Sony A7000 will feature a 3-Axis or 5-Axis Stabilizer, but either has huge benefits for photographers using Fixed Focal Length lenses or the growing trend in using older vintage lenses/other manufacturers lenses with adapters. It is also likely that it will have a New & Improved APS-C CMOS sensor with the latest BIONZ processing, which we hope will greatly improve camera Performance, Speed & Noise Reduction. Other improvements over the Sony A6000 will see it have a 4K Video, Higher Resolution OLED Electronic Viewfinder, Touch-screen & improved Battery Life. Our guess is it will look alot like the Sony NEX-7, but a little smaller - Definitely watch this space....

Now to Nikon....

From a leaked document there are supposedly rumours of a few new models that Nikon will be announcing in March 2015. The exciting 1 for us is the talk of a Nikon D7200. There is only basic speculation to its specifications, but to improve on Nikon's current D7100 would make it 1 hell of a camera in APS-C Sensor range. Basic improvements suggest same Tiltable LCD Screen as the Nikon D750, New Sensor & Processor, Built-in WiFi & 4K Video?

NEW Canon EOS 5Ds & Canon EOS 5DsR Full-Frame Models

Canon have just announced 2 NEW EOS 5D Models- the EOS 5Ds & EOS 5DsR. These NEW models feature an Incredible 50.6 MegaPixels CMOS Full-Frame Sensor (1 with a low-pass cancellation filter), 2 powerful DIGIC 6 processing engines, improved Auto-Focus system & Mirror Vibration Control. Just surprisingly no in-built WiFi.

The excitement of hearing the news about these 2 NEW cameras, was INSTANTLY SHATTERED as it appears Canon will only be selling these products through selective distribution .ie. NOT US...

We have Sold many of the Canon EOS 5D series cameras over the years, from the Original EOS 5D, EOS 5D mark II & EOS 5D mark III. Were they/or were they not Professional Models? Yet at the moment, we are unable to SELL the NEW EOS 5Ds & EOS 5DsR .

As an owner myself of a Canon EOS 5D Mark II & as an Independent Company we pride ourselves on Customer Service & Product Knowledge. The likely scenario is these cameras will fall into the hands of the 'Box Pushers', who's main interest is to drive down the Price & De-Value the product.

Good Work Canon...

Please enjoy Canon's Promotional Introduction video to the EOS 5Ds & EOS 5DsR & in the words of  Mike Owen (Not the Footballer), Canon Professional Imaging Communications Manager:
"EOS 5D brought Full-Frame Digital SLR photography to a much wider audience".
